About The French Exit 

The French Exit is Brisbane’s ode to Paris, alive with clatter, candlelight, and the European perfume of butter and wine. Steak frites, duck à l’orange, escargot, and soufflé are served with soul, while wine makes for the heartbeat with over five hundred bottles carefully chosen. The tables are close, the energy unfiltered, and every detail whispers 'bistrot'. 

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and committed Demi Chef to join the team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with a focus on French cuisine. You thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment while bringing creativity, precision and strong technical skills to the pass to deliver food that is consistent, well-executed and full of flavour. We are looking for individuals who are committed to the hospitality industry, have a sharp eye for detail and are passionate about exceeding guest expectations.

• Experience working in a quality-driven kitchen environment
• Confidence in preparing and plating dishes to a consistent high standard
• Strong understanding of mise en place, cleanliness and section organisation
• Ability to follow recipes, plating guides and kitchen systems
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced setting
• A positive, team-focused attitude and a willingness to learn
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Commercial cookery qualification or apprenticeship is highly regarded
• Casual availability including evengings and weekends required
• Experience with pastry prep or dessert plating highly regarded
